This a test firing of a 1/2 Scale reconstruction of an ancient Roman catapult - more specifically a 'Scorpion' - that I built. This is a period accurate (200 B.C. - A.D. 100 approx.), torsion powered, bolt (arrow) firing piece of artillery. Distance is 28 ft. I also build a 3/4 Scale unit - identical to this one - that I'll try to get OUTSIDE and run some tests on to post here in the near future.
Someone walks in through the door and gets a arrow in the groin.
