Greenpeace receives ca$h donations from BP, therefore hosts no videos covering the tragic oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico on it's bogus YouTube channel.

Greenpeace is a hypocritical corporate tool who receives hush-money from some of the world's largest environmental polluters like BP, whom they turn a blind-eye when crimes against nature are committed.

If you're a polluter, you can buy Greenpeace's silence for a price.

@kijbob - In my point of view, their actions somewhat contradict their purpose. I'm supposing that their intention is to preserve the world's environments; that's great, but when they hang themselves on an oil rig or disrupt fishing boats while they fish, that's not really saying much about preserving environments, is it?

While these events don't really spur any lasting change, they do have the short term media attention which I'm guessing is the cause that Greenpeace employs these strategies.

@goodcommentguy thankyou for putting forward a constructive argument. Why do you think greenpeace follows this strategy if it doesn't work? Although I don't really have any evidence that it does work, i can't see greenpeace following a strategy which doesn't produce any improvement of the situation for so long. What's your theory?

@kijbob - yes, except that it happens that Greenpeace's action (hanging on a pod attached to the oil rig) isn't really that effective, as well quite dangerous for the people living in the pod. They might attract media attention, but otherwise such an action won't really spur lasting change.

@goodcommentguy saying that greenpeace's use of fuel is ironic is like saying backburning a forest fire is ironic, in that it employs the use of fire- it doesn't follow that it isn't an effective strategy.

Although I have to agree that the lack of an oil spill response plan is dangerous to the environment, I would also have to oppose Greenpeace climbing on the oil rig itself (which, I would mention, is illegal). I understand that Greenpeace is trying to make the world a better place for the environment, but they would be better off producing tangible results of the renewables they advocate so much in rather than traveling to various destination at seas...using oil as fuel. Ironic, isn't it?
