This is what my favorite bento (Japanese box lunch) looks like.

Bento is the Japanese style boxed lunch. The videos in this play list show the different kinds of bento you can get here in Japan. You can also see other bento related videos in this series.

Wikipedia:
Bento (弁当 bentō) is a single-portion takeout or home-packed meal common in Japanese cuisine. A traditional bento consists of rice, fish or meat, and one or more pickled or cooked vegetables, usually in a box-shaped container. Containers range from disposable mass produced to hand crafted lacquerware. Although bento are readily available in many places throughout Japan, including convenience stores, bento shops (弁当屋 bentō-ya), train stations, and department stores, it is still common for Japanese homemakers to spend time and energy for their spouse, child, or themselves producing a carefully prepared lunch box.

Bento can be very elaborately arranged in a style called kyaraben or "character bento". Kyaraben is typically decorated to look like popular Japanese cartoon (anime) characters, characters from comic books (manga), or video game characters. Another popular bento style is "oekakiben" or "picture bento", which is decorated to look like people, animals, buildings and monuments, or items such as flowers and plants. Contests are often held where bento arrangers compete for the most aesthetically pleasing arrangements.

Transcript:
This right here is my favorite bento. A bento is a Japanese style lunch box. They always come in a plastic square package that looks like this. This doesn't look so amazing, but when you eat it it's really good. This is tempura on rice. This is some kind of vegetable. Maybe it's some kind of pea. And then this is shrimp right there. Under that is pumpkin, I think. Yeah, that's pumpkin. This is...it's a Japanese vegetable. It's called renkon in Japanese, but I can't remember the name in English. It's got two big shrimp there. And then it's got nasubi which is eggplant. I really don't like eggplant, but when I eat it as tempura it's really good. Right here tsukemono which is pickled. .. I think this is daikon or this is pickled radish, but it's a giant radish. That's really good too. So this is what my favorite Japanese bento is.
