Learn about SFTP (FTP over SSH) and FTPS (FTP over SSL) and how you can easily secure your data transmissions.
http://www.goanywheremft.com/products/director/encryption/sftp

Both FTPS and SFTP encrypts the entire communication between GoAnywhere Director and the remote system. This means that the user id, password and files being transferred are protected. You can use dual factor authentication by supplying a password and either a key or certificate depending on the protocol. You can send, receive, delete files and perform other commands common to FTP. If a connection were to break GoAnywhere can automatically re-establish the connection and resume transferring where it left off guaranteeing delivery. With FTPS you can verify the integrity of files after they have been transferred by performing an additional checksum on the files. With SFTP, every packet sent and received is verified making it a very robust protocol.

To see it in action, here is a project that connects to an SFTP server and downloads one or more files. On the task all you need to specify is your predefined resource. A resource is where you store the connection information for your servers like the IP address, user, password, keys, proxy settings and more.

I've already added a GET and DELETE element. In this case I've added a filter on the GET command to download all *.txt files on the remote server. After all files have been downloaded I'm going to delete them and send me an email confirmation on what files have been downloaded.

If I run the project and look at the job log I can see that three files were downloaded successfully and an email was sent. If any error would have occurred, an optional notification could be sent to one or more recipients.

This is just a high level overview on how GoAnywhere Director can secure your FTP transfers. For more information please visit goanywheremft.com or call the number shown on the screen.
