Yang
Yin
Balance, light & dark
Battling forces entangling within each person
One must accept the other
Unavoidable magnetism
There is a glue, Red runs between the two
Bakkheia: Frenzy like state, volumizing sins,
induced by Dionysus, God of Wine
She a Maynad, Maiden of Dionysus
Cutting through the illusion of separateness
Gluttony, Confusion, Narcissism
Curiosity & Perversion
Anger - Resentment
Lost & Lonely
She accepts their darkness
In failure to show their light
The wheel must keep turning
There is a balance:
Nothing need by changed, only to be acknowledged
(These words were meant to be used for a slideshow during the piece to explain what it's about.)
The next poem was in the show pamphlet
To feel and express the astonishing beauty of things, falling rocks
flowing water, hard, soft, pain, delight, are constants. The chiseled human form, weathered with its thoughts, frenzies, and passions. Balancing light and dark, without holding on the inhuman nature of reality-
To feel Greatly, and understand greatly, and express greatly, the natural beauty of things, is the business of dance. Man is nature daydreaming, movement is diversion: noble sentiments, intricate ideas. love, lust, longing, bitter truth, the world is not changed, only less dizzy.
