CHECK MY SOURCES: http://docs.google.com/View?id=ddpmcgcr_0cxqxdp23
link to my "sources" guide is above.

In case anyone cares, every single image/clip/sound I used in the video was a totally copyright-free work. The resulting work is of course ©2010 5thWatcher

Please also read the "sources" companion guide. If you have any questions on anything I bring up in this video, the answer can probably be found here. If you want to know MORE, you will find more here. If you want further comentary from me, you will get it there. If you think I am WRONG, you will find out that in fact YOU ARE WRONG in this guide. This guide contains all the facts, sources and references I used. It's sort of like a Bibliography that quotes it sources (rather than just citing) with commentary.

  • There never was a man named Jesus Christ, but there was a man named Yeshua Ben Yosef, a radical socialist who was executed for speaking out against the conservative fascist roman government.

  • @CiaranConnollyIdeals Not exaaaaactly, but it's nice to see you know his real name.

  • Is he trolling? I can't tell.

  • Why is it so important to ANYONE that jesus was a historical person?

Is there no way that the bible is a medium used by people to express their philosophical thoughts about god (like pretty much famous philosophers used fiction to express themselves)? Would that somehow lower it's worth? Fairytales all have a reasonable moral that are good to be taught to children. So yes, I can say that I (abstractly) believe in fairytales because I believe in them being good to abstract useful morals.

  • Jesus existed sure, but there is zero evidence for him being supernatural in origin,ie, gods son. Adam and Eve never happened. dna and genetics has ruled that out.No Ark or flood, no Exodus (no archaeology) and so no fall of man, so no need for a disgusting blood sacrifice.

And from a philosophical point of view, christianity is deeply immoral. Vicarious redemption is a cop out and we don't need redeeming but merely recognise our humanity

and come together as brothers and sisters.

    peace

  • @megatron515 you make no sense! LOL!

  • @yourcomputerhatesyou Thought of that all by yourself did ya!

  • ^screw that noise^, you made another video where you address the idea that the supernatural elements were added in later.

  • So Jesus was one of many prophets of the time who were reported to have performed wonders and came back from the dead.

his followers were all illiterate so all the gospels were at most legends passed from oral traditions and written by independently faithful members of his church hundreds of years later after his church was already established.

and your FAITH is the part that says these accounts are likely the real deal.

I'm an atheist and I like the honesty in your videos, subbed.

  • Any atheist with half a brain knows Jesus existed at least. If you deny that you are retarded. Even Atheist scholars know he existed.

  • @yourcomputerhatesyou That is the most common way that people sidestep my arguments here.
