Stephen Colbert delivered a special video message to the moms of South Carolina at the CafeMom Coffee Break in Myrtle Beach. The reaction was not in his favor. Frank Luntz moderates the conversation.

  • Oh my god, this is just too much stupid to handle.

  • I think there's a disconnect between what people think the phrase "Corporations are people" means. Many seem to explain it as corporations are built upon the shoulders of all the people in it, especially with smaller local corporations. I mean, heck, even I agree with that romantic notion. The problem, and disconnect, is when we then literally give corporations the same rights as people. The people in the larger corporations don't give a rats ass about romantic notions, they can now buy votes.

  • Stephen Colbert 2012!!!!

  • I'm sorry but,I watched about 10 minutes of this and just couldn't make myself watch anymore. I will admit I never really heard of, let alone watched him before and now I know I haven't missed anything.

  • @jesuisapoopie1 well... I guess that's the next generation's problem then :D hahahahahhahaha, but really, I am scared...

  • There is no way Ron Paul can win when these people can vote.

  • I lol'd.

  • south carolina moms are a convent of shrieking bitches - quote by stephen colbert january 18th brodcast... bwahahaha... also he does satire guys get a grip!

  • Not one of them has any idea what "Corporations are People" actually means. It reduces their votes to utter waste, and that the US is headed toward a country run entirely by, not corporations (I've got one of those) but, *huge* corporations who's profits are the only Moral Good they are permitted (by law) to adhere to. The American school system clearly has produced a room full of moms with heads that are empty of useful knowledge. No wonder America is failing -- these are the voters.

  • @92Fishman92 What you said certainly does sound like ignorance. Hey-O! Please remember tip your waitress.

  • @Zsinjeh Corporations are partnerships of people. If corporations aren't "people" and shouldn't have any influence in the electoral process (they still can;t vote as a corp) then why should they pay taxes? No taxation without representation! Oh...another "romantic notion".

  • They don't have to like/get his jokes or agree with him politically, but at the beginning, when he took a moment to appreciate his own mother they didn't even clap or give him an "awwww" or something? That's bullshit!
