@BlackCrimson92 It's not old Norwegian, old Norwegian disappeared in the 14th century. This is is just some dialect of modern Norwegian.

Hard text!
There's another translation here (h t t p : / / w w w.webalice.it/lucatag/) which you might want to read, which differs drastically in a few parts (Go to Translations/Gate-Iselilja). The second verse is well done, and you might want to add the lines you missed/didn't translate (Åse ska tå glae dågå, kapvis åt dæg struke) + translations of hulle, leika, stute

The Huldras (Swedish spelling) were related to trolls, however, their relationship to the troll you may be thinking of is slim at best. As you can tell by the female in the video, these beings were closer to the image brought by a Succubus, and behaved in something of a similar manner, varying from myth to myth. In some cases, they were tricksters. In other cases, easily offended but potentially helpful forest spirits. Either way their appearance could quickly lead to misfortune.

@UTubeSrfr There's a difference between old norse and norwegian. Every language changes, and to say that it's the same as another is stupid. We don't speak danish in Norway, our written language may be similar, but the spoken one isn't.
Btw, why comment on something that was said two years ago?
-
@HypreEmmy Yeah.... Yeah you do. The only people who still speak Norwegian are the Icelanders. Ever since the Kalmar union, you've spoken Danish. And ever since the 1920's, it's actually been 2 versions of a dialect of Danish. The true Norwegian language only lives on in Iceland, originally colonized by Norwegians, politically taken when Denmark took Norway, but never really touched By the Danish government as much. Declared its independence when Denmark was occupied by Nazi Germany in 1940.

Can someone explain this video to me?
05insomnium 10 months ago
@05insomnium it is about a fairy/imp that seduces young man from town/village. before the man succumb to his lust/her spell, the fairy/imp was caught by the local authority/secret society/holy men and burned at the stake. that's what i think. and i also think that's a part of norwegian folklore (the fairy going to town seducing young man part)
