the old market was a lot nicer and it was for lebanese residents .The new one has no life solidair and hariri stole our old markets.who needs this dead market .
Too bad now everything is triple priced there because of solidere (thiefs)...back then it was full of lebanese of all classes.. now only the very priviledged and the khalijis with their backward mindset shop there
its actually very incredible .... since they rebuilt it in a new stylish way ... and i say to the people who don't admire the builder of beirut souks to set aside and don't say a foolish words .... and thanks to solidere ... and who said tha beirut for us is wrong beirut for all good and lovely lebanese people who helped in rebuilding beirut souks .. and god bless them ..
@mima1234561 There is no such fact. Religion belonging does not tell us who is more educated or not.The area called "bigger Syria" has always been more advanced than its surroundings. It does not have anything to do with religion.
I mean, can you answer me why the christians in Lebanon are more educated than the christians in for example Romania?
Can you answer me why the "muslims" in Lebanon are more educated than the muslims in for example Morocco?
@wlekeee yes Lebanon was mainly Christian ( more than 85 % ), Christiansen were the real face of advanced Lebanon ,in the health field ,education ,art and music .............. AND THAT IS A FACT .
@mima1234561 It never was mostly christian. Maybe for 1500 years ago. In modern history, The dominating christian belief ( maronites) came from Syria, and close to the independence of Lebanon in the 40s a lot of "syrian" christians got the offer to get Lebanese citizenship, which they accepted of course. Thats how it suddenly became more christians than muslims.
I love all sects, but please dont try to turn it in somebodies favour..
actually I felt that some body stole our dreams to restore our beirut and destroyed our hope in repairing not rebuilding old beirut>because Beirute is for us and we did not ask any body -any body-to rebuild a new beirute .No thanks for the new theaft of beirut.

@chiefjian The Lebanese are the same, geopolitics forced our country to change. We wish we have Denmark and Sweden as neighbours instead...
