  • Why don't you just snatch it?

  • @jhawk386 This is just a variation of the swing. Not instead of the swing or snatch. I like to have this as a way to teach more about tension. At the top you have to crush the handle and squeeze your glutes harder to hold the bell over your head for the pause. It's a nice little variation and something different than the regular swing. Some people have a hard time with the learning curve of a snatch and are not ready for it. This is just a different exercise for variety

  • So what is the most weight Robin can do?

  • she can easily swing a 53lb kettlebell, let me put it that way.

  • Whats the benefits over the regular swing?

  • This way can teach you more about tension. At the top you have to crush the handle and squeeze your glutes harder to hold the bell over your head. It's a nice little variation and something different than the regular swing. It also uses a little bit more upper body.

  • I just bought a kettlebell and the Jillian Michaels kettlebell DVD....but now am affraid to use both because of all the press on bad form etc....is there a DVD that you can recommend that would be good for someone new to KB workouts (I have NEVER done a workout with a DB before) that would go over step by step how to have good form as well as have a beginners workout on it???? Any help would be much appreciated...thanks
