Thank you for this video. I wish I had seen it a couple of months ago. My spirea are already leafing out but they look pretty shabby. I suppose it's too late to stump them now.
I just planted 2 small 'Spirea nipponica' bushes (got at Home Depot) along a chain link fence in my back yard. I need a nice looking ornamental bush that looks nice next to my tall grasses. Does Spirea grow quickly? I was told this bush can grow to 4 feet tall and wide!

Thanks, I just pruned my 8 year old golden spireas to about two-three inches from the ground yesterday and was a little worried that I overdid it.
I haven't given them a hard prune in at least 6 years and they were looking very raggedy.
