@b5thomas7 thats all true but it still lost to a cobalt on the track and it is over 5 grand more and MPG is not as good so if you live in the snow WRX is great if not the cobalt you get more bang for your buck and thats what this was about I think Motor trend forgot the purpose of there own video.

ive driven almost all these cars and i haft to say that the gti does win. the 1/4 mile difference between all these are small and same with track times. the thing the vw has though is great ride, good interior, and looks amazing... plus resale is high too

WRX should have won. It is powerful, fast, fun-to-drive, has tons of cargo space, and is the only car that is good in snow.

No Ron Kiino, the GTI did not win, because it's not the best "bang-for-your-buck" in any category.
Cobalt SS T/C wins for fun, all out speed & track capability.... and WRX for everything else..... There's the real results of this comparison

This is supposed to be BANG for the buck NOT LOOKS for the buck. You can't give it to VW just because they are prettier? BANG means just that, It kicks everybody's ass. Hello tell us which car did that and thats the winner of Best BANG for the buck. This is a bullshit comparison

Worst car comparison video from motortrend. I won't subscribe to their magazine anymore. I thought the colbalt ss or wrx is going to win, and out of nowhere the gti is the winner? bull shit!

GTI = Best for everyday
Cobalt SS = Best For the track
WRX = Best for the rally course (why no STI wrx though?)
Seeing as I use the street but still like a sporty, usable comfortable car, with good MPG and low price, the GTI takes it for me.
But in all honestly, the GTI, WRX, SS, Mitsubishi (as an EVO) and Speed 3 are all good. I would be happy with any of those. I could never live with the Dodge or Mini, yuck.
