  • hi,

you're not suppose to create a filesystem before doing the --create command. Only create a filesystem for the logical raid drive (md0)

  • You have raided those 2 harddrives, but what happens if the harddrive hosting the operating system fails with the mdadm software installed on it? Is there a way to remount the raid array you just created on another machine with mdadm installed if the OS harddrive fails? or in the case the os harddrive needed to be replaced and a clean os installed, is there any way to reimport the raided harddrives so they keep the same configuraiton (/dev/md0)?

  • Nice ! ... a clean and quick demo. Thanks for sharing !

  • Thank you for making this, it really helped. This also works in 10.10 32-bit as well. :)

  • Hi, there is something I haven't understood. Before doing the --create with mdadm, what type must be the partition? I see you created a Linux Raid partition type, but then, when do you decide what filesystem is it? Thanks
