Built in 1963, the Miami Marine Stadium is recognized today as an architectural marvel, boasting the largest span of cantilevered concrete in the world. In 1992, after Hurricane Andrew the Stadium was shuttered and left to rot.

Until now...

For 20 years, politicians and developers have lobbied to demolish this historic landmark. Join Friends of Miami Marine Stadium, the Worlds Monuments Fund, the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the World Freerunning Parkour Federation in the fight to restore this architectural icon.

Song is Una Furtiva Lagrima recorded by the famous Italian opera singer Caruso in 1903! If you google it, check out the lyrics which totally fit the idea of the stadium being the leading "lady" in this video! "She" is sad because she is getting older and men don't look at her anymore...

Just thinking about what this place looked like before, All those empty seats... How little children used to sit in them to while looking out into the vast ocean... The wonder and mystique the stadium used to give off... Then to suddenly be abandoned after a hurricane and left to rot in a flash... This was weirdly moving... Thank you for inspiring me with new ways to look at things... o_O GAH I'M THINKING TOO MUCH...

They said the building was going to fall apart after hurricane Andrew! That was over 20 years ago and It is still standing strong. I was born and raised in miami, I recall seeing a ski race and jumps from there when i was a little kid. It was GREAT! all open and roofed. Protection from direct sun BUT fully open to the cool sea breeze. Would LOVE to see this reopened.

Hey, sorry to be that guy who spams for subs but sadly its what I have to resort to. I'm 14 years old and freerunning, parkour, tricking and film-making is where my passion lies. I've been working on my biggest project ever and hope to have it released in a few weeks. Its already taken hours and hours of editing and filming so all I wish for is when I release these edits I have some subs to watch them and my journey to becoming one of the next generations great traceurs/freerunners.Cheers
