Veterinary Clinical Pharmacology Lab at Washington State University states that Ivermectin will cause neurological toxicity in dogs that are homozygous for the MDR1 mutation. We do not have proof that Pasha experienced the MDR1 mutation but he was not tested for this neither. Before even thinking about attempting to do this injection on Pasha, the doctor should have taken the precautions and simply test him for this mutation. According to them, 10% of the tested German Shepherds showed signs of MDR1 mutation.
