butter paper is a must or just greasing the tin with butter will b fine??

If Butter paper is put it is easier to remove the cake from the tin. You may try without butter paper, by greasing the tin also. I always use butter paper

I am not aware of Cheesecakes. The one which I have shown in video is prepared from Indian Cottage Cheese and is an ancient sweet prepared in Orissa. It may or may not be a variation of the Cheesecakes which you are refering

Great, I've always wanted to make that Puri panir cake. Myself, I would mix the baking powder with the semolina so it gets distributed better.

In Orissa they cook in a traditional way and I guess they use some dty leaf (Instriaku) to bake it which add some flavor to it.

How many gallons/litres of milk required for 500gms Chenna? Did anyone try this from store available Ricotta cheese ?

Hi gayatri....This is not the oriya podo pitha .................the recipe is more closer to oriya chenna poda(literal transalation:burnt cheescake).In the US, ricotta cheese can also be substituted for these recipe....

it is a kind of baked cheesecake. but in the usual cheesecake other soft cheeses are used and not paneer. this one seems to be really yummy. will definitely try it. thanx!!
