Sega R360 Wing War - Video #1

This is the rare Wing War version of Sega's classic R-360 video arcade game and full motion flight simulator. It was built in 1994. I have modified the sit-down version of this game so it can battle the R360.

Yeah, but Mr. Bat got even the next day. He flew the R360 three times while I battled him in the sit-down game.

This is why Sega dominated the arcade for over 25 years. No one could come close to their hardware, games, innovation, and bad ass gameplay.

I have had the pleasure of playing an R360 in an amusement arcade in Blackpool many years ago, It was fun once i figured out how to get my self upright, I only wish I could A) Afford to buy one and B) had somewhere to house it

I've always said that something like that should exist. I never knew anyone (save for perhaps the airforces and space agencies) actually built them.

I'm sure back in the day when SEGA made these they were outrageously expensive; how much do you think something like an R360 would cost to build today?

Aw I wish I could have had the opportunity to test this out! I always went down to an arcade in the 90's and every time I did, I always looked for the arcades that had the VR or the motion-movements. Actually, the VR one was in a mall, and the graphics were crap, but basically, you stand on this pillar and you pretend to walk or run and turn, and it did it in real time in the game, so I was amazed. But this looks super fun.

I remember playing G-Lock in this thing when I was a hell of a lot younger. nothing in a modern arcade comes close to the R360.
