  • The prop isn't flexing. Amateur video cameras run a high shutter speed and the weird strobe effect is seen in the camera, not in reality. At most a prop might flex a fraction of an inch at the tip.

  • Al Gore sucks cock

  • man the sound at 3:30 sent a shiver down my spine.

  • I like the truck---I wonder if Al Gore would consider it a hybrid....(snicker)

  • I love 'bendy prop' videos.

  • you would think the power of the engine would pull the truck brakes or no brakes

  • if you cant be bothered to help improve peoples knowledge, say nothing. no one has seena prop at full RPM. the only reason you can see it here is the stobing effect of the camera's CCD as it images the scene dozens of times a second (you get the same effect when shoting mag wheels on a car) . Nothing to do with pitch changes on the blades, the relatively low RPM range the engine covered would not have been noticable via camera.

A beautiful vid os a beautiful engine, cheers for sharing :D

  • thanks twister.......wonderful video/audio......Ear Beer for Englishmen !

  • Had one of these monsters in an unlimited hydroplane I had a chance to drive a few years ago. The didn't use any type of water pump for cooling, so I had to keep the speed up to a min. of 95 MPH just to "ram" enough water through the engine to keep it cool, never pushed the old boat much past 135 mph, yet in her day she was a 195+ race boat. Unreal power and sound !!!!

  • I got the chance to visit Central Cylinder just recently when we dropped off some Merlin heads for a Mustang project.

I saw this truck parked there inside the shop and wondered what it might look like with an engine mounted and running. Now I know! Great stuff!

  • I´m impressed to hear the stall on prop by working engine opposite.
