I'm not seeing anything special. Any 7 year old could hack a ball off a mat.

For every Champion you name that started over 20 years of age I will name 10 who started younger & again you are missing the point!! I never said that if you take up golf later on you can't be a champion & I agree with you without cultivation & natural talent, the chances of becoming a champion golfer will be slim!

@MrRoadhole, no, you're missing the point. If someone lacks the requisite natural ability, it doesn't matter how young he begins playing. It will be to no avail. On the other hand, if someone is truly gifted, that gift will manifest itself, assuming it's cultivated properly, even if he begins relatively late. I'm not saying that beginning young doesn't offer advantages, but the blanket statement that a late starter can't reach the pinnacle of success is simply incorrect.
wtf how bigs your garden?
nice swing btw!

@MrRoadhole, of course. I could, too. And there are 1000 times as many people who start young and don't go anywhere. Anyway, I don't think you're the one who initially made the statement about 15 being too late, so why belabor the point? As I said, starting young does offer certain advantages, but starting late is no insurmountable impediment to success. I started at 83 and was scratch by the time I was 87.
J/K about that last line. ;o)
