The rare extended version of the classic single from 1979, mixed by Bob Clearmountain. I think this version might only have been available on the Canadian 12". Ripped from CD4 of "The Thrill Of It All" boxset.

  • This song needs a martini - with an olive !!!!! Great !!! lol !!!

Roxy Music - one of the BEST Band´s ever !!!!

  • I'm in Lisbon now, (I'm portuguese), and in a couple of weeks I'll be back in London. You're right, British music in general is definitely edgier and raw sounding! It just sounds more real and down to earth. I mean, the Americans have good stuff too, on a more polished and brushed register, but they do. Personally, however, as a European I really can relate more to what the Brits do! I guess I like the rawness of how the old continent still sounds... still that is! lol

  • i love this version thank you

  • Why is this & Avalon so good, and so much else of what BF has done is so unimpressive, sophomoric?

  • I discovered Roxy Music & the brilliant Bryan Ferry in early 80's when Avalon came out. I was very young but became hooked forever!

I am LOVING this version here! And aside from all the obvious classics, I really have a soft spot for Street Life!

Thx a million for posting this!
