  • I too had home ec in school back in the 70's. Even though I never got married and had kids, I still had to learn how to cook and sew. I will admit that I"m not good at sewing.

    LouiseB35: You're right. Kids today need to have home ec courses in school.

  • This is great, thanks for posting it! It's tragic this kind of thing isn't taught in most schools anymore. There's nothing in this film that doesnt apply to now. But sadly home ec is considered old fashioned and now we have several generations who were never taught the basics. And by basics I mean keeping a home, making meals within a budget, storing food, food sanitation. I'm 47 and I still use what I learned in a home ec assignment I had to do on food bacteria from when I was 12 yrs old!
