Supra HKS T51 R Spooling in snow

A wastegate vents excess exhaust away from the turbo to limit it's speed (boost). It only works at full boost. A BOV vents charge air to atmosphere or back into the intake to prevent compressor surge (flutter noise). It works when you let off the throttle when boosting. Some BOV's are tuned to sound like compressor surge. It's a cool noise, but actual surging can really damage a turbocharger.

Nice supra, but 0.5 Bar of Boost! You really need to change to a stronger spring in you wastegate!? Maybe a 1 bar spring, it's a T-51 R, is that the wastegate that comes with the kit? Why would it be so low? And I hope they don't put salt on the roads in London. Nicest sound a car could wish for. That sandwich was good.

I wouldn't even attempt tryin that in such bad weather:(

Go for it mate. I would just have it for the spooling noise it makes.
Have to say bit laggy, but once it comes on boost you going to need a special car to catch up.
Have to accept bit lag if you going for big power though :)
