i love Yinka's art but for me i just don't like it when artists go into film or animation unless its something so shocking and stomach churning that it gets a point out there to make people listen. but when its just people dancing i dont get it. but its art. and its something that needs to be done and by people who are good at it. and this guy is definitely good at it and he has inspired me deeply with some of his pieces and views.
he doesn't talk too much... shonibare's work is an attempt on his part to critique, analyze, and create a dialogue around the issues he regards as so important. it's not as if we as viewers will instantly understand what he is trying to say... so he feels it is necessary for him to explain his ideas to us so that we can not only build our own opinions of his work, but also create those essential dialogues not only about his art but also those issues that he considers so serious and significant.
brillant ARTIST of many levels! MANY in the arts of domestic living and aesthetic purposes must pay attention to what this creator is creating!

This makes me cry (but I've learned to make my tears dry).

he is obviously very passionate about his work so why should he stop talking about it? maybe you should all just stop listening....
