I think it's because in an earlier scene, after Chapel brings him the soup, Spock says it's undignified for a woman to play servant to a man who is not hers and then in this scene, he asks her for soup. That kind of implies he wants to be hers.
Yeah, I know everyone has different interpretations of this scene. I was just giving a shipper's perspective as to why a lot of us Spock/Chapel lovers think this scene makes it seem like Chapel's crush isn't entirely one-sided. :)
I dislike the pairing myself, but I understand where you're coming from, especially in this episode. Pon Farr Spock probably would have hit a tribble, even if it didn't bring him soup.
Yeah I agree with you...even when he talks to her about it being illogical for them to go against their natures...I think he is just being kind to her after being so rough with her before. What is it about Spock? Rrrrrarrrrrgggghhh! (sorry)!
