Hello everyone!
Sorry my video is a little long, I hope to actually keep them rather short in the future.
This channel will be about my journey to achieving a better a1c, and to hopefully lose weight in the process...
Please join in a conversation, I would love to meet fellow Type 1ers and especially if you're looking to lose weight as well.

Hope to update weekly!
Thanks for checking me out...

  • Good stuff Sarah. I've been type 1 for 25 years - just had eye surgery over the past 2 years for retinopathy. I sometimes feel like the disease is chipping away at my health day by day. It's funny how when you're out for dinner the first thing people think when they get their dinner is 'I wonder how that tastes: and my first thought is "I wonder how many carbs are in it." Were you told that weight gain came with the pump? I am considering making the switch next year.

    Paul

  • @RosettaPR i was told that weight gain came with any tightly controlled diabetes, and yeah, the freedom to eat whenever/whatever on the pump can lead to weight gain too if you're not careful... but there are so many more bonuses in my opinion that the weight gain if any was no issue.

  • i think its so funny how much we all have in common! especially the nurses! i think we've been so exposed to the medical profession maybe we think we can do just as well or better. :)

  • Well, first off, we have a lot of things in common. 1) My name is Sarah. 2) I'm a type 1 Diabetic 3) I've been on the heavier side for my whole life and am also trying to lose weight. So I see this video was posted a long time ago. How have things gone? Any tips? I would very much appriciate it :)

  • @SarahXinlivingcolor I will be updating everyone very soon! with all the new comments and questions i've been getting, i think its time to get back in the game and get serious... but we all know how hard that is.. ugh!

  • @RosettaPR

The thing is that you must enjoy ALL the other joyful things in life except food. There is lots. I have had type 1 for 20 years and I am stronger and more healthy than anyone i know.

Take walks everyday and drink lots of water. Works for me anyway. Not trying to be ignorant.

  • I type in google of how to gain weight being a Type 1 Diabetic, and this is what I find. :P I'm 33, and I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when I was 14. I have been skinny all my life, and it's extremely hard to gain weight. I'm 5'8" and 130lbs. I'd like to reach at least 145-150. Any other videos for how to gain weight, not lose it?
