@ejc45 You fail to appreciate the gravity of what occurred. Phillip II did not only declare war on the English, he did in the name of the Catholic Church. The Spanish Armada was one piece of a Crusade, or a Holy WAR, meant to replace and punish perceived heretics and infidels with rulers obedient to the Catholic faith. Among the Armada was the Inquisition... You haven't the slightest idea or respect for how terrible that would have been... Not exactly the IRS asking for taxes...
