Another Valentines day has gone by and I still haven't found that one person who changes everything, that one person who I'll give just one rose because she means everything to me

the stone is material possession. duh.

I think the entire song is about a girl trying to turn a cold, smooth, immovable guy (a stone) into a good guy. It's basically an analogy for girls liking assholes and trying to make a gem out of a rock. My take, anyway.

@msleahkeene I know. It makes me almost cry.

i think I know the bitter dismay of a lover who brought fresh bouquets every day, when she turned him away to remember some knave who once brought just. one. rose. (years ago...)

i believe
that if stones could dream
they'd dream of being laid side-by-side (piece-by-piece)
and turned into a castle for some towering queen they're unable to know.
and when that queen's daughter came of age
i think she'd be lovely and stubborn and brave. suitors would journey from kingdoms away just to make themselves known.

i wonder what he means by a stone...

man, I feel you on that. Falling in love is the best and sometimes the worst thing that can happen to a man.
This song is so beautiful. It hits me so hard everytime.
