Thisis50 Speaks With One Of The Top Music Executives Of Our Time, 'Steve Rifkind' ,
He speaks on Akon's low sales he received for the first week of "Trouble" and selling millions to this day, going from President of LOUD Records to SRC, changes in the music industry, maintaining a high level of success, adapting to technology & much more!
Steve was hella cool when I interned in the office at Loud/SRC back in the 90's but you can't forget about Rich. I was there when Xzibit came up with Paparazzi. I remember the instrumental to the finished product and I appreciate getting to see how the music comes together. I learned alot. Bigga B,Noa, Tommy, Tasha and That dumb Beyatch Terry(I must of did Ur job better than u huh got Ur job lazy arse) I learned loads!

@MusicalAgenda Am gonna let you in a little fact. A guy name Ted Field founded Interscope records back in 1989. He hired Jimmy Iovine based on his expertise and gave him a 20 percent share of the company. Ted deserves the real props .For he was the one who signed 2pac

Steve ive got a real money maker here for you. 10 year seasoned underground MC with a great flow and crazy direction. IF YOU DARE TO TAKE A GAMBLE YOU WILL MAKE MORE MONEY WITH MY IDEA THAN ANY MC YOU CURRENTLY GOT. For real.

@MusicalAgenda Back then we were contracted to handle promotion for Mya, King-T, Black Eye Peas, and Enimen... Not to mention the Bulworth Soundtract which went platinum, rare for sound tracks of urban movies since they are just throwaway albums. Obviously 4 of the 5 did very well and 2 went on to major success. jimmy always gave you whatever you needed, no questions asked if he believed in your ability. Great guy, that roster put him and Interscope on the map. Rare actions for a major label.
