Nick Margerrison's Meaning of Life

Chris Moyles described me on his Radio 1 Breakfast Show as "The Worst Phone In Show Host ... Ever". I'm quite proud of that description and I wish him all the best in everything he does. I think this particular clip shows how unusual the phone in show I did was. I hope you like it a little bit more than Chris did, if you do rate it 5 stars and tell your mates. If not, erm, sorry.

There are two callers on this clip, both of them great for different reasons.

The first caller, Gadaffi Q, is good because he's got his point and no matter how hard I try to move him off it, he's sticking to it. At a guess I think he was trying to pull the subject over to religion but clearly that's not where I wanted the conversation to end. What I like about the call particularly is it sums up my philosophy on life.

The second caller is a victim of the seven second delay system which most phone in shows use. The poor bloke can hear himself on the radio seven seconds later and, as you can imagine, that's a little confusing to work with. As a result Ryan from Doncaster gets a bit of the nonsense. It's not his fault, but he handles it well and it makes for a good bit of radio.

What I like about these two calls is they sum up the way the show would often work, going from the profound to the ridiculous in less than a minute.
