Dragnet Jack Webb Promo (Long Version)

Here is a 60 Promo for the hit television series DRAGNET starring Jack Webb. I would imagine that this was aired when the show was in syndication sometime in the 1970's.

I'm only 21 but remember watching shows like Emergency, Adam 12, Dragnet, I love Lucy, I dream of Jeanie, The A-Team. I was maybe 12 when I started watching TV Land and fell in love with old shows that pretty much was before my time. I still love these shows today and I also love old movies and music.I would hate it if classics like these died. I hope a new generaton would get into these classics. They're awsome.

You are quite correct. If you watch the "Just the Facts!" documentary hosted by Tom Hanks and Danny Aykroyd- with narration by William Conrad, you will see then. Lt. Cooke interviewed.

This promo did air when the series was in syndication. I remember it when Dragnet was on WPIX-TV, Channel 11 in New York. If you notice there is a 6 or 7 second space for a local announcer to say something like "Dragnet...weeknights at 9 on WPIX-TV, Channel 11"!

That is not correct. He used the badge assigned to Sgt. Dan Cooke, technical advisor to the show. Badge 714 was "retired" when Webb died and is on display at the LA Police Academy.

Grew up with the Dragnet theme 'and' the moral message. I don't know if you are still putting stuff together (been a long time since you posted this) but ONE OF the biggest obvious changes is the 'City!' You might take all the introductions showing the city and do a montage?

I prefer the low skyline of the 60's and 70s but of course progress marches on... thanks for the videos!!!
