Heard on a really cheap radio (£3 bought from a street market). Russian numbers in five figure groups - each group immediately repeated. Ends (not on video) 'null null null null null'. Frequency - around 6900 khz (can't be accurate as the analogue tuner is very imprecise).

I believe the Enigma 2000 classification is S6 (Russia), although if anyone can confirm or correct this that would be great.

Sorry for the poor audio/video (mobile phone + cheap radio)

For those who are confused as to what a numbers station is, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Numbers_station

  • They're coming for you now man. Oh shi

  • hehe. I'm not well hidden but I will carry on redistributing numbers... At least until I get a notice from a 'blue beaked canary'.

  • 41041 71231 34247 25115 06133 36335 45477 37623 65517 2726? ???02

    That's what I heard, anyway.

  • Yes, I learned Russian numbers 0-9 specially for this :-) Do you find it odd there are no 8's or 9's?

  • The way the speaker pronounces "null" sounds quite german to me. any other opinions?

  • Some other guy was trying to convince me another Russian station I recorded was Polish (with different numbers from the Russian). If it's confusing for us I'd love to hear about a spy getting confused.

  • @LCduT maybe because семь/"syem"(7) and восемь/"vosyem("8) are hard to distinguish over a scratchy recording. also, дебять"dyevyat"(9) and десять"dyesyat" (10) can also be confused

  • ....*insert obvious call of duty black-ops joke here*

  • @LCduT It could be binary converted into base 8. 0-7 will encode 3 bits exactly, and it is then easy to convert from binary to octal and back.

  • Baby Station.

  • this is a language btw, they wana take over ze world!!!!

  • Sounds like UVB-76, could be another station thought. During the Cold War both NATO and the Warsaw Pact had all kinds of secret electronics. Over Horizon Radar, Jammers, Number Stations, Letter Stations, ect...

  • THAT HEAVY IS A SPY!

  • @LCduT It's really sophisticated. They use base 7.
