Chef Jason Hill of CookingSessions.com shares a Southwest Sauce Recipe in this episode of "Chef Tips."

In California, this condiment is popular at many restaurants, such as the Subway Southwest sauce.

Use this southwest sauce in everything from turkey avocado wraps to grilled chicken sandwiches. You can also use it as a dip for tortilla chips, drizzle it over tortilla soup or enchiladas, or serve it as a southwest dipping sauce.

Let the flavors meld in the refrigerator overnight for best results. This recipe keeps for about 2 weeks in the refrigerator.

  • Tried it today! Awesome and easy to make. I forgot to get Serrano peppers so I use jalapeno that I had ... also, bought cumin at Walmart and I got a better deal on it in the Hispanic section than the spice section ... more and it was cheaper :)

  • Here's a tip for everyone: If you live outside of the US, Kosher salt will be sold as "natural salt" or labelled as "additive-free" :-)

  • @Lumanix1 BAHAHAHAHAHAH, not to be rude to you good sir but that is a hilarious question!

  • @OoPandaGirl89oO I have a lots of chiles de arbol at home :D

dried chile the arbol is common here.

I used paprika and it wasn't spicy enough(mexicans love spicy food)

Next time I'll try with chile de arbol :D thanks

  • @conishuaa Chile de Arbol is a perfect substitute for cayenne pepper. Do you have access to this type of pepper?
