  • im in an even worse situation; im stuck in a dorm with hard shower water; its filled with white lime from the lime factory that pollutes our air everyday; it makes me itchy and drys my hair out and my school doesn't give a flyin flip about it doin that to us (students) either; their tryin to kill bacteria wit it; i would go home and wash my hair becuz i have soft water there but my homes 2 hrs away and i dont want meh folks having to waste gas for me to do that every week, cuz ian gotta car :o

  • WOW...that sucks. I constantly have to soak my shower head in lime away because of the calcuim and limescale build up. Its really gross. Good Luck

  • That's terrible! Try buying a shower filter and see if it gets any better. I have a water filtration system for my whole house and it still hasn't helped so I don't think it's just me. Hope this helps :)

  • Thats why I said Florida water doesn't like MY hair. I know Tampa sucks thats why I'm going back home to NYC lol.

  • Good so I'm not the only one lol! You need a water filter for sure living down here.

  • I live in Tampa but everyone who comes to visit me from NYC always says "Why the hell is my skin so damn gray!" lol

  • PART2: And my skin is so damn itchy it's driving me CRAZY. There is this new thing that they got out it called iWater you put it on your shower head and it last up to 6 months then you replace the filter. The system cost 49.99 and the replacement filters cost 19.99 I'm going to try this out and see how it is; I'll be damn if i gotta cut all my hair off cause of some water. My hair is down to the small of my back i will flip the fuck out if I have to cut it I'M SO PISSED OFF I WANNA SCREAM!!

  • PART1: GIRL let me tell you I'm in Florida too and when we moved into our house we got a water softener and guess what? it broke today and i had to use the water as is OMG i had to use so much conditioner and it still did nothing my hair is a hot mess right now i cant seem to get the freaken knots out i ended up with a big clump of hair in my brush like WTF. I remember with the water softener i would put just a dab of conditioner and the comb would slide through like butter I'm soo PISSED OFF

  • wow where in florida...but ive lived here my whole life and didnt realize how bad it was till i moved to my new apts ughhhh ughhh ughhh like my skin is always dry when i come out the shower like wtf...im def investing in a water filter....

  • Well, I am a born and raised Floridian. However, my daughter and I are and have always been itchy each time we're in the shower for too long. I contributed this to our naturally dry skin. Could this "hard water" be a contribution?

I always thought my circumstance was weird, but then I noticed my daughter's reaction to the water was the same!
