Upeksha is hot and talented. People must encourage and aprreciate women coming forward. We should not attack and look down upon people for minor mistakes.

These are root causes of 30years of civil war, They again start sowing seeds of hatrism. It is rather good to separate religion from state. General Fonseka was harassed and imprisoned. They should have treated him with respect. If they treated with respect then he wouldn’t have told war crimes allegations. (SF shouldn’t have told even if they harassed, is another story). I like MR government but his extreme religious perspective is a headache! We need some fun guys!

The religion and beliefs are personal and it should not be a burden to other religions making them feel threatened and push to compete. They also will come with Muslim, Christian and Hindu sacred places making Sri Lanka unrest again. We need to understand the multi-culturalism. We need a place to have a drink in same city after work without going to another city. Watch a film of our taste (Ex., Action, Controversial, Adults Only), not religious films.

A politician is a normal human being as anyone else in the society. Going (a visit) to a night club by a politician should not be an issue. Sri Lankans are more concerned of cost of living, freedom and democracy than a sacred land and cultural views. Its a personal choice. Govt should not oppress people with extreme Taliban type of laws for short term religious votes. We prefer a society to live in harmony with other ethnic groups and religions.

I like Upeksha's genuineness and her views. She lacks knowledge in politics but she is a representation of our society. She didn’t go to Oxford University to learn politics. She lacks knowledge of Sinhala language. She represents a minority, Women politician in SL Parliament. Culture should not be stagnated in one place. She might not be raised in Sri Lankan culture or even immature but she is an elected parliamentarian. We must respect her and choice of the people.

Sri Lankan needs educated, well- read young people in politics, and people of the country should be able to understand that being a tele-drama sweet heart is not a qualification to get the valuable VOTE of the people. Young Sri Lankans should start thinking that education, knowledge and dedication for the good of the country is what they have to look for when selecting politicians. This interview itself show us how bad our choices for our country! Start thinking!!!!
