PetroGuard is a proprietary EPA approved solidifying absorbent used to quickly respond to and clean up oil and chemical spills. PetroGuard is the industry's most effective product for oil spills and would be the ideal solution to help in the cleanup of the Gulf oil spill disaster, but is being ignored by BP and the Government. haha nearly a few moments after hypothesizing my previous comment I just read I saw the video about the 'peat moss absorbent'. I had no idea that existed... I really should start watching the news lol. Great minds think alike I guess? They still haven't genetically engineered a 'peat moss fish' yet though haha. That would expedite the process as the swimming movements of the fish, if contained, would cover more spacial area to eliminate the petroleum spill a bit more quickly. Truly fascinating..

Why have they not begun utilizing this for the major BP/Gulf oil spills? I was just theorizing how something like this could be accomplished, but apparently someone has beat me to it. Bravo! Now, if only we can genetically engineer an organic, reproducing aqueous species which secretes an identical chemical into the ocean water similar to the ways in which this works...or if that is too difficult perhaps integrate this chemical technology into a form of fungae, algae, or such. Clean these oceans
