True, but I like to argue that the artist matters much more than the tools. Vermeer would have been a great artist with crayola markers. For most people the limiting factor is their skill and talent, not the software.

A well-done, somewhat pensive, abstract, atmospheric, slowly methodical piece with a refreshing note in contrast to all those saturated-color, goofball-character animations.

NASA should start looking into this :P

I love your use of your tools. I understood your story as you presented it before reading the description. I took from it the fact that we all want to be seen in our best light. We present our best face to the public. But what we do when we thing no one is looking can be very different. Many people believe God is watching, but still they do whatever. Take the good and the bad, we are human, let us be dammed for what we are. But look how far we have come.

@KiwiBlaster516 Everyone has a message. They don't have to come with answers. Sometimes asking the right question is what makes someone else come up with a solution.

@21beal21 What is comes down to is each frame takes time to render. the more complex the frame the more time. When you do animation you looking at 24 to 30 frames per second. So if you have a simple scene that takes 10 mins to render one frame and the scene is 1 min long at 24 fps. 60 sec x 24= 1440 frames. 1440 x 10= 14,400 mins/60= 240 hours. 240/24= 10 days. For a fairly simple scene and 1 computer. That is why studios use render farms with a lot of machines. Blender has farm stuff too

Why does he move his hands even after he's done talking

@LunatikTokyo Oh and I would advise NOT using a laptop to render(just for future reference and to keep in mind)just because that a laptop wasnt made to take on such a big job like render. You need a PC to do the big job of rendering so you dont risk crashing your laptop.

@KemmlerKemmler Yea hes right. Depending on how many polygons you used for your film, the surface textures you used, and the amount of animation you have will greatly effect the amount of time it takes to render. So having a fast processor is good. Im at a university now and I have the advantage of using more than one computer to render frames which drastically cuts down the the render time. If you have two computers great, but if not thats ok. Just make sure your computer is in top shape.

This is awesome short film.
im still a lil new to blender, i kno how to use it and make some decent stillframe renders, but havent gotten into animation yet.. im just curious, does it really take hours and hours to render an animation clip?? like i said, i dont know anything about animating YET, just the basics of modeling. ive seen little 2 minute clips and they said it took 10 hours to render.. is this right??

If you rendered my animation on your computer it would probably take something like 5-15 DAYS or more, just for reference. (depending on your PC)... depending on the complexity of your scene it can be much faster, or much slower.

Although I liked it, and the animation was fairly good, the rendering impressive. Why did it seem like you took a bunch of random clips, blurred the heck out of them and composited it into one animation with an intentionally (though not really) confusing description. The DoF was way off for most of the train station, and the sheep was never actually in focus.
I liked it anyway, but it seemed chopped together and somewhat ill planned.

There is a theme that ties the clips together, but it's concept and not story-driven. The DOF you're probably right about, the sheep (actually a goat) was intentionally out of focus beacuse I could not get the fur sim to work before my deadline. This was before 2.46 came out.
The description wasn't intentionally confusing - I didn't mean for it to be anyway. Oh well, glad you at least liked some parts. Thanks for the crits!
