  • @robertknepperful Hi. You do not need to understand everything, in fact you can, even if you re a Slovak or Czech. In the movie, there is spoken slovak and then juedisch, hungarian, polish, czech and latin too, under infl.of which Slovaks were before. I.e. no-one can understand everything, but it is important to listen. Even me, as a Czech, I do not understand everything and I am made to guess - as in my life. I never saw it translated properly, even from Slovak to Slovak!

  • Does anyone know where one could obtain the recording of this song used for the film?

  • Podla mna, najlepsi slovensky film, aky bol kedy natoceny. Ida Kaminska a Jozko Kroner to zahrali na 1*

  • Ve skutečnosti na nahrávce zpívá: ... un zi neyt a vayse kleydl (a šije bílé šaty). Ida Kaminska na konci zase zpívá: ... un zi neyt a shneyvays kleydl (a šije sněhobílé šaty). Všimněte si.

  • V anglctine: On the oven sits a young girl Embroidering a little satin dress. A young lad comes flying in And pulls out the thread. Oh, you rascal, you firebrand. This will cost you dearly. I won't tie you with rope But only with my white hands. I won't ask you where you're from But I won't let you out of here! I will hold you, I will love you. And so the lad remained. On the oven, two are sitting Neither embroidering or sewing.

  • Inak táto skladba je tiež na platni z roku 1965, ako hudba k filmu. Nedávno bola aj na ebay.com za cca 20 dolárov.

  • What a beautiful scene. There are so many amazing films in Eastern European films. I wish I could understand them without subtitles someday.

  • milujem tento film! vzdy si pri nom poplacem.
