KTTW Fox 17 Sign On - Summer 2002

I'm not sure what exact date it was, but this was recorded on VHS sometime during the summer of 2002. I recorded this sign on from KTTW's repeater station, KTTM Channel 12 Huron SD. We normally didn't get regular reception of KTTM with our outdoor antenna, but due to tropospheric enhancement, I was able to pull in a somewhat fuzzy, but good signal. (That can't happen now thanks to the DTV transition)

Before the station sign on sequence began, they would play various music selections from the FOX TV shows that were aired at the time over a test pattern. After the station sign on is the rather standard "Aim High" Star Spangled Banner from the US Air Force.

As a kid, test patterns used to scare the hell out of me. If only the NYC stations had put their logos over the test patterns and played music like is done here, it wouldn't have scared me anywhere near as much.

Do you by chance have any video of how they did the weather back than? I remember a gal named Stephanie do it in the end. I believe they did the weather reports sometime around the community calendar. It's been long enough I don't quite recall anymore.
