Battle of Basiani, Georgia

on July 27, 1202. in Basiani, took place a battle. between The Sultanate of Rûm and Georgia. the army of the enemy was composed of 400 000 warriors under command of Ruqnadin. Georgian army had about 70-80 000 warriors. the central army of Georgia was led by Shalva and Ivane Akhaltsikheli. advanced detachment was led by Zakharia Mkhargrdzeli. and the commander of full army was David Soslan. the battle had lasted few hours, the Georgians had been pursuing the enemy until the night. The reason of Georgian victory was the maneuver performed by Georgian side on the wing of the battle.
