To become a police officer involves attending the Police Academy which is an intensive 12-14 week program. As law enforcement officers, it's required to continue your education and expand your horizons, which in turn will give you more opportunities in the field. Many people Mark worked with completed criminal justice and accounting degrees which play a role in the investigative process. Other important studies in criminal justice include communication and psychology which aid in diffusing situations verbally.

One of the most exciting things about being a cop is there is no set schedule for the day -- you're not stuck in a cubicle. Every day is different.
