  • Now we understand why Mathis is a Karajan’s singer: extremely flexible use of air and good diction. A perfect legato, voice round and true. Not too emotional, but not cold. For me, definitely the best version in the Youtube’s Collection.

  • Esta versión es la que más me gusta. Su voz es muy dulce y preciosa, su dicción perfecta y la cuadratura de su voz es estupenda.Además, el conjunto musical y la cantante van al unísono, cosa que no he visto en otras versiones.

  • From all versions I heard so far Edith Mathis is one of the best. Irmgard Seefried is oustanding as well and Lucia Popp is excellent. I prefer the "older" generation, that's clear.
