The judge in Shavluk v. Elizabeth May and Green Party : In my view, while Mr. Shavluk was seeking office, the comments at issue were not made in relation to his performance of a public function. Accordingly, the comments are not within the scope of what Bracken J. termed the "legitimate criticism of a public official acting in his official capacity" that any candidate for public office must accept. Rather, it was his private character or conduct that was the subject of the statement. Accordingly, I find that the statements are defamatory. and also The burden of proof is on the defendants. I find that the defendants have not discharged this burden with respect to the defamatory sting that Mr. Shavluk held anti-Semitic views.

Don't tell the prosecutor or judge your real thoughts on Marijuana. Avoid answering their questions with anything that's going to tip them off you're propot. Get seated on the jury, then find NOT GUILTY. Lets not let them start doing this damned prosecuting people without juries. SNEAK NOT GUILTY verdicts on them. Otherwise they'll do what they do anyhow, which is boldly criminal and massively injurious to society, criminalizing possession of a plant.

yes! together we can change things.. it's so difficult in america. just trying to wake up some of my tv idolizing family is one of the hardest things ive ever tried to do.. im still trying. i would pack up and head to canada but that will not help things. change starts with us and those around us. thanks for the update on this one.
