And now for something completely different...

a parody that, sadly, doesn't deviate far from the reality of history.
monty python is comic genius, but also a presenter of truths.

science has nothing to do with good or evil, actually. it's merely a tool. it's the use that it's put to that helps or harms, but that depends on the people involved.
as for religion... need i say it? we've seen its effects throughout history, and there's been very little good in return, most of which has been superficial.

@gregrutz And your point is? Violence does not justify violence. I never said that anyone was in the right. If someone doesn't start peace, we're just going to keep pointing our ever increasing arsenals at each other and clearing our throats loudly until someone finally breaks and we blow up the world. Perhaps through the war we'll learn not to screw over other countries for oil. Oh, wait, we haven't learned that. It's been 66 years since the war ended, and we've only learned how to kill better.

@TheSeptet They attacked us, ass hole.

@gregrutz And the fallout is still "getting rid of the Japs" to this day. Anytime we resort to violence it is a failure. A failure to resolve an issue with peace and diplomacy. When we say "there is no other option" it means that fighting someone is easier than talking to them. War stems from hate, the hatred of another people so blinding, that killing them all seems like a reasonable choice. Hatred is a failure to accept other ways of doing or thinking. That's what the bomb symbolizes.

@TheSeptet The Atomic Bomb was a great success, it saved lives in the long run, and got rid of a lot of Japs.

"Nothing succeeds like science"
*Atomic bomb*
~Mean-while, back at the ob-ser-va-tion bun-ker~
Oppenheimer - "Now I am become death, destroyer of worlds"
Bainbridge - "Now we are all sons of bitches"
Nice job showing one of the worst destructive acts that humankind has ever perpetrated on itself. Don't you think that maybe for "success" something like the moon landing would be more appropriate?

...i've got better. BURN HER ANYWAY!!!

Not that I'm a fan of intelligent design, but I don't see why you had to burden a fun film with ponderous title cards.

BRING OUT YOUR DEAD!

I love monty Python. Burn witches...
The Dark Ages in fact had next to no bibles in circulation by decree of the Popes in Rome.
Expecially english translations.
Perhaps it was the true lack of bibles that plunged history into the dark ages but better yet the church of Popes.
-
Im not entirely sure what your point was here...
when people only had the bible..they were foolish..
convert me now!
Great video
Do you think shit like that actually happened?
better?
worse?

Probably sometimes better and sometimes worse, eh? But never as funny. I recently learned that even the oldest written code of law (the Sumerian Code of Ur-Nammu, written sometimes between 2112 and 2095 BC) contains the wacky ordeal by water:
"13. If a man is accused of sorcery he must undergo ordeal by water; if he is proven innocent, his accuser must pay 3 shekels."
