Carlos Saura's "Carmen" is a story within a story. In this opening clip, Antonio is looking for his perfect Carmen amongst his baile students. No luck

This 1984 classic is the second of Saura's flamenco trilogy.

The movie featured Antonio Gades, Cristina Hoyos, Juan Antonio Jimenez, and Laura del Sol (as a young, seductive Carmen)..The costuming and choreography are great and Gades' face is always enjoyable to watch.

I have to thank Siskel and Ebert for turning me onto this film.I never made a point of watching them,but I was bored and there was nothing else on...and they reviewed "Carmen"(two thumbs WAY up!!!).I hunted for the film,found it for rental,watched it and was thoroughly hooked.Brilliant,compelling,an­d the sound of those feet resounding-!Very sorry to learn that Antonio Gades has passed away;very glad to know that Cristina Hoyos won her battle with breast cancer and is still dancing!

I didnt know Gades was dead･･

I also saw that famous stage "Carmen" of his.

（Carmen was not Laura,,but Stella （She is also in movie））

There,i was attracted by heavy sound of shoes and seductive movement of girls arms and wanted to learn it more and more･･･
