Adjusting a Chevy Cobalt Emergency/ Parking Brake - 09-11-2009

First of all, sorry about the crappy quality of the video. I missed a few things I wanted in the video, but I guess that is what happens when I try to work and shoot at the same time. This is how to adjust an emergency/ parking brake on a 2005 to 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt sedan or coupe. I mention in the video about possibly a bad cable, but I will do a follow up video tomorrow on what other things to look at before condemning the cable. Well, I hope this is helpful and any input is appreciated.

well i have an 08 cobalt and my button on my brake broke so how would i go about replacing that

@sickpalms, mine did that too, only mine was under warranty when it happened; so I never got to do it. Given the critical nature of this combined with the fact that I have never done this, I can only advise that you get a service manual like Haynes or see a mechanic.

@ehlm1, not sure. I never worked on a Mustang. If you can't find any kind of adjustment on the cable somewhere my guess would have to be to look at the lever than. The best bet is to get a service manual. Haynes is probably the best as they reverse engineer the cars.

This is how you adjust it for alot of cars but it's different getting to the skrew

anyone know if adjusting a 1990 eclipse is similar? I guess I'm checking it out tomorrow.
