When I was speaking at the Cove on Heaven, they wheeled in George Beverly Shea. He came to the platform, sang a few songs including How Great Thou Art, and stayed to hear the message on Heaven

  • True story: In early May, 1967, I was sitting in 10th grade English class. The teacher asked if we knew what had happened the day before. 3 or 4 of my classmates said in enthusiastic unison. “Elvis Presley got married.” I said, “Who is Elvis Presley?” and the class laughed scornfully at me. I retorted, “OK, who is George Beverly Shea?” Nobody knew. I informed them that he could sing Elvis under the table, and I was right!!

  • I'm sitting here...listening - with tears streaming down my face. Thank you so much for sharing this awe inspiring clip of the George Beverly Shea. God does love him.....and so do we.

  • He has the best voice. One of my faves. I am surprised he is still alive.

  • And, this wonderful man still has his characteristic gentle sense of humor! How I would love to meet him! If not here, then in Heaven, for sure!

  • Wow this is soooo inspiring. This is a blessing to my soul.

  • What an incredible man. Such a blessing to see this. He makes me think of Enoch. I think he's just going to walk with God straight into heaven one day.

  • Wow..

  • I had the awesome privelge of singing back up for Mr. Shea in 1992 as a member of the Continental Orchestra and Singers. It was in Estes Park at the Christian Artist Seminars and he was receiving a Lifetime Acheivement Award and he sang "I'd Rather Have Jesus." My single most singing career highlight!!!

  • I've always loved to hear Bev Shea, & been touched by his singing. But to hear him still singing at almost 103 was very powerful & moving.

  • wow he stops singing to the microphone and bows his head in his own personal praise and worship. awesome
