The good news is that if you have good health insurance, as I do, you've little to worry about today. The antivirals are fantastic. So much has changed since the bad old days up to 1995, when I honestly expected to be dead in under a year, due to my health circumstances of the time.
The *bad* news is that if you don't have decent health insurance, you're even further up shit-creek without a paddle than I was then. At least I had the NRTI drugs.
