You don't always have to pay $2500 for a great guitar. I paid $449 for this Dean Soltero, installed DiMarzio pickups (Tonezone bridge and Air Norton neck) and voila! Here I am running the Soltero through my favorite overdrive pedal - Lovepedal Eternity into a Marshall TSL 60 with the 1936 2X12 cab. I also have the BBE Sonic Stomp on and toward the end I use a MXR Carbon Copy for delay and the Fulltone Fat-Boost 2. Go easy on me since the playing is sloppy, I was just showing off the guitar. Rock on dudes!

  • great tone dude! love the distortion . . . any thoughts on the Lovepedal Gen 5 delay unit?

  • @gangtwanger It's like a Gibson Les Paul only slightly thinner (more comfy for the slot in yer hand) & a better custom molded heel at the neck base. The design of the guitar itself is based off a 1961 Gibson LP Jr. I got one awhile back it has become my fav. I will buy another one for a backup. I recommend buying from Gearhounds because they do honest business & have fair prices.

  • How would you describe the neck on these? Les Paul-like (and if so, is it like a rounded '59-style neck or a '60's-style one)? Or is it more like a PRS neck? I have an Evo flame-top (Same color as your Soltero), and my only issue is the neck. It's nice, but the wide/thin, PRS-style neck doesn't fit my hands the way a rounded '59 Les Paul-style neck does. Otherwise I love the guitar (I swapped out the pickups for Duncan Seth Lovers because I wanted a low-output, vintage sound).

  • that guitar is a STEAL!!! there are some other variations at the dean website, very nice colors. on a seperate topic...you are TALL! what are you 6'2"...just sayin...rock on amigo!!!

  • is this soltero standard?? with dimarzio pickups on~?

awesome, i wanna switch a better pu too

  • sounds light but its pretty awesome

  • not bad, recording quality isn' t doing you justice. Nice setup. Seems to be lacking some oomph. Probably low volume levels, I'd expect a marshall TSL60 to sound fatter, even though I've tried the tsl100 and know it's a very bright amp.
