@thomsonfly645k Maybe it was called the "cooler" as an irony, because in the summertime, that room could be real hot. It is certainly no icebox. O rmaybe as someone said, prisoners are put there to "cool off" when they misbehave.

"this picture is dedicated to the fifty" it makes me smile every time kind of heart warming :) this is the kind of movie i watch on a sunday afternoon.. and a sunday afternoon well spent !

@HowDyaYouLikeMeNow you see, thats another thing i didnt get. why he was such a big deal when he barely did anything and was more a side-charecter. maybe he was so beloved because he was well-known in the first place?
still, i wanted to like this film, but the ending was dissapointing.

You are talking about another movie entirely, "Escape to Victory", or just plain "Victory". Came out nearly 20 years after this one.
Back to the cooler for the "Cooler King" at the end. But wow, how he tried...
