jmurra03 speaks of the over 6,000 Marines and Corpsmen that were KIA in Iwo Jima. Gen. Kuribashi's last order, " your fighting hole is your tomb, kill 10 soldiers before you die". Aftre 28 years in the CORPS, only a Marine could understand who a brother Marine is in combat.

Ira Hayes haunted me for a day or two. I lived next to Arlington, at Henderson Hall. Don't ask me how I know it was him, but it was him. Scared the bejesus out of me.
